COVID-19 Recovery Benefits Extended
February 10, 2022
Canada’s COVID-19 Recovery Benefits have been extended until May 7, 2022 to help Canadians and their businesses continue to persevere through this ongoing pandemic. The caregiving, sickness and workers lockdown benefits are part of the many recoveries in place to help Canadians.
The Canada Recovery Caregiving Benefit (CRCB)
- Provides $500 for up-to-44 weeks per household for workers
- To apply you need to be unable to work for 50% of the week due to having to take care of a child under 12, or a family member because schools and other care facilities are closed
- You may also apply if a child or family member is sick, required to quarantine and at high risks for serious health implications because of COVID-19
The Canada Recovery Sickness Benefit (CRSB)
- Provides $500 per week for up to a maximum of six weeks
- Only applicable to workers who are unable to work for 50% of the week because they contracted COVID-19
- Also applies if workers are self isolating, have underlying conditions, going through treatments, or have contracted other illnesses that would make them more susceptible to COVID-19
The Canada Worker Lockdown Benefit
- Provides $300 a week to eligible workers who are unable to work due to a temporary local lockdown between October 24, 2021 and May 7, 2022
- This benefit is only available when a COVID-19 lockdown order is designated for your region
The pandemic has taken its toll on everyone, but our Government will continue to ensure Canadians have the support they need to safely navigate these difficult times. Find more information and apply online.
