Our government introduced Constituency Youth Councils (CYC) in 2016 — non-partisan groups found in ridings across the country — to help our leaders of tomorrow, young Canadians between the ages of 14-24, effect change in their communities, engage with the political process and add their voice to decisions that will affect them for the rest of their lives.
The aim of CYCs is to ensure the voices of youth across the country are being heard, and also to discuss issues that matter the most to them. The Ajax CYC (ACYC) chapter began in 2017, and since then it has run food drives, park cleanups, workshops on financial literacy and mental health awareness and held discussions with MP Holland.
For those interested in joining the ACYC who would like to receive more information, please send an email to [email protected]. To become a part of the ACYC, please register at Tinyurl.com/Ajax-RSVP by no later than January 7, 2022.
