Investing over $600 million in Canadian science will help support nearly 5,000 researchers and their teams. By committing over $13 billion in research and science funding since 2016 we are continuing to invest in the future success of Canada. 

Through funding from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada’s (NSERC) Discovery Grants program, over 3,400 grants were supported. Over 1,315 research projects were supported by Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council’s (SSHRC) Partnership Grants, Partnership Development Grants, Insight Grants and Insight Development Grants. The funding also supports 156 new or renewed Canada Research Chairs (CRC) at 36 institutions across the country.
