Today, our government announced over $337,000 in federal funding was provided to Victim Services of Durham Region to help develop an online game to help raise awareness of human trafficking among at-risk youth. Pickering MP and Parliamentary Secretary of Health, Jennifer O’Connell, announced the funding on behalf of MP Bill Blair, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness. MP Mark Holland was in attendance for the announcement, as well as Whitby MP Ryan Turnbull.

The issue of human trafficking is a major issue, and one that has been found here in Durham Region. With this investment in an innovative awareness campaign, our government is helping to address this serious matter.
