Everyone in Canada deserves access to safe, clean drinking water. As of this week, our government has reached a historic milestone with 101 long-term drinking water advisories on reserves lifted since 2015.
In 2015 we made a promise, to First Nations and Canadians alike, to end the unacceptable long-term drinking water advisories affecting First Nations communities. Our commitment to lift all long-term drinking water advisories on public systems on reserve remains firm – we will continue working to ensure every single advisory will be lifted.
We still have a lot of work to do, and a plan in place to achieve our goal. We remain committed to ending all drinking water advisories affecting our First Nations.
