On November 30, 2020, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, the Honourable Chrystia Freeland, released our government's Fall Economic Statement, our plan to get through the COVID-19 pandemic and make our economy more resilient so it can get back on track once this virus is under control.
Some highlights of today's statement include:
When the virus is under control and our economy is ready for new growth, we will deploy a meaningful and targeted stimulus package to jumpstart our recovery. We will put climate action at the centre of our plan, lay the groundwork for a Canada-wide child-care system, bolster training support for the hardest hit industries and more.
While Canadians are bracing for a hard winter ahead, better days are coming, and our government will continue to do whatever it takes to support Canadians and Canadian businesses through the pandemic to get to those brighter times.
